“

I was shocked to see parts of the very Left which regularly slams patriarchy, and condemns sexism and misogyny, unconditionally defending a man who has been accused of rape. I was shocked seeing parts of the Left defending a man who had unprotected sex with a woman who had specifically not consented to having unprotected sex. A man who initiated sex with a woman who was asleep. A man who admits these things, and does not call them rape! And this Left was not even mentioning the word rape – as if it’s not important, as if the wrongs and rights of this man canceled each other out.

I was shocked to see this Left coming up with every excuse in the book for this man. That sometimes people admit to things they haven’t actually done, that the women were CIA agents, that one of them even had the audacity to look happy and throw a party in the days after allegedly being sexually assaulted.

As a woman, this sent me a clear message: if you happen to be sexually assaulted by a man who has done good political things, you better not speak up. Because you will be silenced. You will be called a liar, and people will support the man, because powerful men can get away with these things.

It appears that Her Majesty’s Government of the United Kingdom is preparing to invade the Ecuadorian Embassy in an illegal pursuit of Julian Assange. An invasion of the Embassy is a breach of sovereign territory and may be considered an Act of War.

If the UK goes…

What they should do if the UK goes through with this, is withdraw embassy status from the UK embassy in Ecuador, and then arrest half of them as spies.  They can eventually let the non-spies go, but there’ll certainly be a few there that are from one of the intelligence services.  This should then be repeated in every other country the UK has embassies in.  Fucking tyrants.

I hate it when I accidentally come across porn on someone’s tumblr.

Same. Especially when it’s someone I’m following. >_>

I started following someone and after a while their posting style seemed to change to constant pictures of boners.

I was just trying to make an artistic statement.

“Back in the States, you might be saying ‘Wait a second — we’re locked in this kind of partisan debate over the future of healthcare in our own country.’ Here, they feel so strongly about their healthcare system, they’re actually celebrating it as part of the Olympic opening ceremony.” —

NBC announcer MATT LAUER, expressing amazement that “doctors and nurses from the National Health Service” are “getting this kind of recognition” as part of the Olympic Games’ opening ceremonies.

Somewhere, a Republican expressed disgust at the idea of universal healthcare and turned off his TV.

Are you kidding me? The NHS has just been virtually sold off.

(via screamingjessopmonkey)

I’ve got to admit, I was pretty surprised to see them include the NHS in the opening ceremony.  Although, perhaps the creator of the ceremony was making a political statement.  But then, i’d imagine the government would have to have some kind of final tick off on the ceremony.

The GOP are idiots.  There’s no two ways about it.  They should be nuked from orbit.

Tumblr is suggesting the #Libertarians tag to me.

Has Tumblr really thought this through?

“After a shooting spree, they always want to take the guns away from the people who didn’t do it. I sure as hell wouldn’t want to live in a society where the only people allowed guns are the police and the military.” —

William Burroughs (via humanformat)

Yeah, European countries are drowning in oppression and police brutality right now. Nope, wait, that’s the US :)

Yeah, it’s a stupid statement regardless.  This bloke and tonnes of other crims were the people who “didn’t do it” at some point in the past.  The point is to not take guns away from people after they commit the crimes.  It’s supposed to stop the crimes happening in the first place.
